  1. «Les dessous des grands travaux» – a virtual exhibition now online     

 

The Comité Français de Mécanique des Sols et de Géotechnique (CFMS) is pleased to announce that the virtual geotechnical museum is now online at http://expo.geotechnique.org.  This initiative is based on the «Les dessous des grands travaux» exhibition hosted by the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Paris, and presented at the 18ICSMGE held in 2013.  It is available in French and English.

  1. TC 215 Call to National Societies for nomination for the 3rd R. Kerry Rowe Lecture

 

The ISSMGE and TC215 on Environmental Geotechnics have established the R. Kerry Rowe Lecture in recognition of Professor Rowe’s outstanding impact on the field of Environmental Geotechnics and his excellence in scholarly achievements. The lecture is to be given at the opening plenary session of the International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics held every four years. The associated paper is published in the Canadian Geotechnical Journal. The lecturer is a person selected by TC 215 as having made a distinguished contribution to the theory and practice of Environmental Geotechnics.

 

The 3rd lecture is scheduled to be given at the 9th International Congress on Environmental Geotechnics to be held in Chania, Greece, in 2022.

 

Nominations for the 3rd R. Kerry Rowe Lecture should be made through the National Societies and/or TC 215 members to the R. Kerry Rowe Lecture sub-committee chaired by Professor Kerry Rowe. A supporting letter and a CV of the nominee (including a list of publications) should be sent to Professor R. Kerry Rowe (kerry.rowe@queensu.ca) and the secretary of TC215 Andrea Dominijanni (andrea.dominijanni@polito.it) by 31 March 2019.
