MEDLEMSBREV NR. 5, 2021

1. Stabilitetsseminar flyttes til 9.-10. februar 2022

Stabilitetsseminaret som var planlagt avholdt 27-28. oktober 2021 på Quality Hotel Gardermoen utsettes pga. fortsatte usikkerheter rundt COVID-19. Ny dato er 9.-10. februar 2022. Mer informasjon om kursprogram og påmelding vil bli sendt ut nå i høst.

2. Nominasjon av kandidater til Hutchinson Lecture

Joint Technical Committee (JTC1) inviterer hver nasjonal geoteknisk forening til å nominere én kandidat til å holde «The Hutchinson Lecture» under en workshop arrangert av komitéen våren 2022 i Norge. NGF oppfordrer medlemmene til å komme med forslag til aktuelle kandidater innen 1. september. CV og nominasjonsbrev må legges ved forslaget.

The Joint Technical Committee (JTC1) on Natural Slopes and Landslides of the Federation of the International Geo-engineering Societies (FedIGS) is organizing the 3rd JTC1 workshop, which will be held in Norway in Spring, 2022; the provisional title of the
event is Landslide initiation, prediction and risk mitigation.

The workshop will host the 3rd Hutchinson Lecture, which has been established by the same JTC1 to award a scholar, aged 42 or less at the time of the event, who has significantly contributed to the development of knowledge in the field of slope stability and landslides. The Hutchinson Lecture should deal with a subject consistent with the workshop issues. The lecture will be published in an international journal.

The Hutchinson lecturer, who should have a disciplinary background from one or more of the domains of the geosciences, will be chosen – by vote of JTC1 Committee members – among candidates proposed by national societies. All countries are then asked to propose their own candidate. The proposals, accompanied by the candidate CV, should be submitted to the JTC1 chairman, Luciano Picarelli, by September 15th 2021 (luciano.picarelli@unicampania.it).

3. ISSMGE Time Capsule 2022 – frist 1. oktober

Som informert om i medlemsbrev 4, så ønsker NGF bidrag til ISSMGEs «Time Capsule 2022»- prosjekt.

Fristen for innsendelse av bidrag til NGF er satt til 1. oktober 2021. For mer informasjon om prosjektet se medlemsbrev 4 og prosjektets hjemmeside: https://www.issmge.org/the-society/time-capsule.

4. NGFs innspill til Gjerdrum-utvalget om håndtering av kvikkleire

Som informert om i medlemsbrev 4, så ble NGF invitert av Gjerdrum-utvalget til å komme med innspill til hvordan risiko for kvikkleireskred håndteres i dag. Styret har på vegne av NGF sendt inn et brev basert på kommunikasjonen vi tidligere har hatt med DiBK (se medlemsbrev 4) ang. dagens system for sentral godkjenning av geoteknisk prosjekterende. Brevet er lagt ved medlemsbrevet.
