The Second JTC1 Workshop on Triggering and Propagation of Rapid Flow-like Landslides (3 to 5 December 2018, Hong Kong)
The Second JTC1 Workshop on Triggering and Propagation of Rapid Flow-like Landslides will be held on 3 to 5 December 2018 in Hong Kong. The Workshop will provide a platform to discuss the latest technical development and knowledge gaps with a view to promoting further advances in the understanding of the subject. Details of the Workshop and the technical programme can be found in our website (see http://www.hkges.org/JTC1_2nd/index.html). The highlights of the Workshop include the Hutchinson Lecture, Hungr Oration, benchmarking exercise for landslide runout analysis, keynote addresses and special lectures.
I write to cordially invite you to submit an extended abstract to our Second JTC1 Workshop. The scope of your submission should cover the main theme of the Workshop, e.g. the highlighted topics of the Workshop flyer or other related topics of your choice. The flyer is attached below.
Extended abstracts (4 pages) using the stipulated template (see http://www.hkges.org/JTC1_2nd/submission.html) are due by 30 June 2018. Papers can only be accepted on the understanding that they will be presented at the workshop or the poster session if selected by the Scientific Sub-Committee. The Organising Committee plans to publish a Special Issue in a relevant journal. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to submit a full manuscript for consideration of journal publication.
The commencement date of the online registration is 2 April 2018.
