International Symposium on Energy Geotechnics – SEG-2018, Abstracts due 30 Oct 2017

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to convey you the latest updates (Bulletin #2) on the International Symposium on Energy Geotechnics (SEG-2018) under the auspices of the Technical Committee TC – 308 of ISSMGE, taking place at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland on 26-28 September 2018

The Symposium is a 3-day event focusing on the biggest challenges and innovative solutions in energy geotechnics. It aims to serve as a forum for promoting the exchange of ideas, practices and the state-of-the-art on a broad range of topics in the area.


Call for Mini-Symphosium Proposals

During SEG-2018, you have the opportunity to propose a mini-symposium on a topic that fits within the scope of the main symposium. The mini-symposiums will be 75 minutes long and will consist of 5 oral presentations. To propose a mini-symposium, please follow the instructions on the submissions tab. Please note that the deadline for the mini-symposium proposals is October 1st, 2017.

Call for Abstracts

You are kindly invited to submit abstracts for SEG-2018. The call for abstracts can be downloaded here. Extended abstracts and full papers are eligible for oral presentation. Full papers will be included in the proceedings of the symposium published by Springer and indexed in Scopus and SpringerLink.

If you are submitting your abstract for a particular mini-symposium, please indicate it during your submission, the instructions for which are given in the submissions tab. Please note that the deadline for abstract submission is October 30th, 2017.

Call for Patents & Startups

We are glad to announce that, during SEG2018, we are launching an “Innovation Hub” featuring an exposition area and a special interactive session dedicated to supporting and promoting the community of inventors and entrepreneurs active in the greater field of energy geotechnics.


Inventors and entrepreneurs who have an idea, product or service which challenges the established practice, are kindly invited to visit the innovation tab in our website. To apply for the Innovation Hub please follow the instructions on the submissions tab. Please note that the deadline for the Innovation Hub submissions is October 30th, 2017.
